How do I start a campaign to get the word "They" officially accepted as meaning "He or she"?

It will eventually be officially accepted. I remember the olden days when "he" and "him" were always used and generally covered both es. But then there was a rebellion! Then came "she" and "her" used to cover both es, but most guys never really took to it. "They" and "them" had to come next, and its only a matter of time before the new meaning takes on legitimacy.
