What extra curricular things would look good to get accepted into UC Berkley?

I really want to get into Berkley. Would volunteering work look good? I've volunteered this summer for a couple of hours. And what about sport and playing a instrument? I've been playing a instrument for about 8 yrs now and I'm gong to continue to play it through high school so will that help me get into Berkeley too?
