What is up with Adventure Time with Finn and Jake?

Why is there a 12 year old (Finn) running around a weird place called Land of Ooo with a strange, lazy dog named Jake? Weird. Isn't Finn pretty young for Princess Bubblegum? That Ice King has clues. Just one day, some giant baby eats Jake?! Where are their parents? The only good episode was Boom Boom Mountain because everyone needed Finn all at once and that was the only clean lesson of this show. They should really cancel it along with Cartoon Network's other blunders except for Generator Rex, which is the only good show.
